 James R. Sachs

Jim led the formation of Battelle Capital Advisors LLC (BCA) in 2003.  Prior to the formation of BCA he was President of Associated Business Investment Corp. (ABIC), a mergers/acquisition and financing firm located in Dayton, Ohio.

Jim has served as a business advisor and intermediary since 1997, and has over 25 years of prior senior management experience in commercial banking and as President of a nationally recognized publishing company. Jim’s background and experience provides a business insight and financial acumen critical to negotiating and structuring challenging business transactions.

Jim is a graduate of the University of Dayton. He has completed the Principles of Strategic Planning program of the Center for Entrepreneurial Education and has attended and taught programs in sales and negotiating at local colleges. He currently serves on the boards of several privately owned businesses.


 


Frank Sanders, CExP

Before joining the BCA team in 2010, Frank served for over 21 years as President of The Fitness Store, an exercise equipment business with locations throughout the State of Ohio, which he founded in 1985.  Under his guidance the business grew to be one of the top 10 distributors of its kind in the United States.  In 2006, Frank successfully exited the business.  Since then, he has stayed committed to his passion for free enterprise, serving as an adjunct professor of business and entrepreneurship at Sinclair Community College, and assisting business owners as a merger and acquisitions intermediary and business start up consultant.

Frank is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Economics, and received his MBA in Finance from Michigan State University.  In January of 2010, Frank completed extensive training and testing to earn the prestigious designation of CExP (Certified Exit Planner) from the Business Enterprise Institute (BEI), the nation’s premier provider of exit planning resources.  As a CExP professional, Frank is thoroughly trained in the regarded Seven Step Exit Planning Process. 


 

 Greg Barney, CPA, CM&AA

For the past 15 years, Greg Barney founded and served as President of Newmark Homes, Inc., a residential development and building firm serving Northern Miami Valley communities. Prior to that, Greg was a Tax Manager for eight years in the Dayton office of Ernst & Young working with corporate and real estate clients. In 2011, Greg received the Certified Merger & Acquisition (CM&AA) designation from the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors. He is one of an elite group of only 400 experienced merger & acquisition advisors worldwide to have earned the CM&AA certification.

Greg is a graduate of the University of Dayton and is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Greg is very active in the Boy Scouts of America serving as an advisor and chair of three troop level committees.

John W. (Jack) Lohbeck

Jack is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Electrical Contractors Association, and The Construction Financial Management Association. Jack has served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the eastern region of Utility Services Inc. USI is a wholly owned subsidiary of MDU Resources Inc., a diversified energy company. Prior to this position he was President and Chief Operating Officer of the Wagner Group of Companies in Dayton Ohio. The Wagner Group of companies is part of the eastern region of USI Inc.

Jack’s career has included experience in public accounting as well as manufacturing management. He has been an instructor in accounting at Sinclair Community College and has presented “The Basics of Construction Accounting” seminar for the Construction Financial Management Association. Jack has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law.

Jack is active in the community as Past President of The Rotary Club of Dayton, board member of Rebuilding Together Dayton, Chairman of The Miami Valley Hospital Foundation, Chairman of the Governing Authority of ISUS Charter School and a member of the Property Review Commission for the City of Centerville. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for two privately held manufacturing companies and is an independent director of a mutual fund.
