Battelle & Battelle LLP, one of the largest independently-owned Certified Public Accounting and Business Advisory firms in Ohio, is seeking an experienced accountant to lead the development of our growing forensic accounting practice within our Audit & Accounting department in Dayton.
This position is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced CPA interested in pursuing a career in the dynamic area of forensic accounting. Key responsibilities of the position include:
• Performing fraud investigations
• Providing expert witness and other technical consulting services
• Preparing reports for use in insurance claims
• Providing compliance testing services such as:
o Vendor contract performance
o Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering
o Investment Companies handling of contributions
• Evaluating internal controls to identify possible weaknesses and fraud risks
• Conducting fraud risk assessments
• Developing anti-fraud programs and controls
• Assisting in the development and marketing of the Firm’s forensic accounting services.
• Assisting audit teams to meet compliance with Statement of Auditing Standards No. 99
Desired qualifications include:
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• A minimum of 2 years internal or external auditing experience
• A minimum of 5 years fraud and forensic experience
• Strong marketing and project management skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) certification
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
