Gary earned his B.S. in Accounting from West Virginia University and went on to earn his J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. He joined Arthur Andersen upon graduation from law school.  He has been with Battelle & Battelle LLP since 1975. Gary has been a Partner since 1981, and served on the firm’s Management Committee for over twenty years, until September 30, 2006.  He currently is a member of the firm’s Marketing Committee.

Gary's areas of expertise include tax, estate and financial planning; mergers and acquisitions; business consulting, and litigation support. He has been a frequent speaker on tax topics in the Dayton area as well as throughout the State of Ohio.  Gary is a member of the AICPA, OSCPA, ABA, West Virginia State Bar, and Dayton Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court.

He has been on the OSCPA state taxation committee, past President of the Dayton Association of Tax Professionals, past President of the Dayton Chapter of the Ohio Society of CPAs, past President of the Planned Giving Council of Greater Dayton and past President of a 75-member service club (Tawasi). Gary is a member of the Board of Directors of Citywide Development, Life Success Seminars, and Tawasi. He is on the Advisory Board for KeyBank's Dayton and Cincinnati Districts and also serves on the Finance and Audit Committee for Citywide Development.
