Jo Ann Beckmann, CPA
Tax Principal

Jo Ann is a double graduate of the University of Cincinnati, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master of Science in Tax. She has extensive public accounting tax experience. Jo Ann is an expert in tax consulting and compliance for estates, multi-state clients and research and experimental tax credit reviews.

She is a member of the Ohio Society of CPA's and the AICPA. Jo Ann also is a member of the Board of the Human Race Theatre, and is past Treasurer of Daybreak, a nonprofit youth shelter.





Karen O. Crim, CPA, MBA

Karen received her MBA in Accounting and Finance from Wright State University.  She has been associated with Battelle & Battelle LLP since 1985 and is a Tax Principal with the firm. Karen specializes in services to not-for-profit organizations and has experience in all aspects of taxation. She chairs the firm’s Not-For-Profit Practice Group.

Karen is Chair of the national board of the Church of the Brethren Benefit Trust, which includes the Brethren Foundation.  She is a member of the Board of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance and previously served as Treasurer of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Association. She is also a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation – Dayton board. Karen is a past Chair of the Artemis Center – Dayton’s Domestic Violence Agency board. She has served as President of the Greater Dayton Planned Giving Council and chair of The Dayton Art Institute Planned Giving Committee. Karen is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs, served as President of the Dayton Chapter of the OSCPA in 2000-2001 and is a member of the OSCPA Not-For-Profit Conference Planning Committee since its inception in 2002. Karen is a frequent speaker on not-for-profit topics.


 


Robert A. (Rob) Davis

Robert earned his B.S. in Accounting from Miami University. He joined Battelle & Battelle LLP in June, 2007 after spending eight years at Deloitte in Dayton, and he is headquartered at the firm’s Troy office.

Rob has managed the delivery of numerous audit, review and business consulting services to clients in various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, retail, and construction. He has experience in working with companies in both the private and public arenas including several benefit plan audit engagements. He is the firm’s subject matter expert on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and has presented to many area organizations on this topic.

Rob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). He serves on the Board of the Troy Recreation Center, is a member of the Troy Business Advisory to Education Committee and is a 2008 Leadership Troy graduate. He has also served on the Board as Treasurer of the Suicide Prevention Center.




Randy E. Fogle, CPA

Randy received his BS in Accounting from Wright State University.  Upon graduation, he joined a Dayton-area CPA firm where he was promoted to Partner handling the tax, accounting, and management consulting needs of his clients.  Randy has worked with clients in many industries, including manufacturing/distribution, construction and non-profit organizations, but specializes in working with defense/government contractors.

Randy is actively involved in the defense contractor community and is the Treasurer of the Dayton Area Defense Contractors Association (Dayton Defense). He is also the Treasurer for the newly formed Dayton Defense Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization which provides scholarships and other similar support promoting education initiatives in the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields.  He is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). 




Vincent P. (Vince) Hall, CISA

Vince earned his BS in Business Administration from Xavier University and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.  He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor.  Vince has nearly twenty years of accounting, auditing, and internal controls experience, including fourteen years of Big Four public and three years of corporate accounting experience.

Prior to Battelle & Battelle LLP, Vince worked for eleven years at Deloitte as the Director-Audit/Enterprise Risk Services.  He was responsible for providing leadership to the Control Assurance practice in Cincinnati.   Vince was the Lead Risk Services Director responsible for client service delivery and support for both publicly traded and privately held companies throughout the North Central region.  He also served as Lead Engagement Director responsible for every aspect of client service for multiple IT Internal Audit engagements within the Cincinnati/Dayton marketplace.

Vince served as a consultant with Accenture (Anderson Consulting) for three years.  He served as functional team lead for manufacturing and financial processes for multiple clients’ implementation of various ERP application products including Oracle and BPCS.  Vince was also responsible for assisting clients in designing and configuring application modules and reengineering business processes to make software implementation work with business needs.





Samuel L. (Sam) Hemmeter, CPA

Sam earned his B.S. in Accountancy from Wright State University and his Masters in Taxation from Capital University. Sam has over twelve years experience with Ernst & Young, LLP in Dayton.

Sam’s experience includes tax planning and consultation with closely-held and SEC clients in the manufacturing, energy, financial services, real estate, and distribution industries.  He also has worked with a variety of clients assisting with business succession, mergers and acquisitions, international structuring, state and local taxation, and tax accounting method opportunities. Sam is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).




John W. (Jack) Lohbeck

Jack is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the National Electrical Contractors Association and the Construction Financial Management Association.

Jack has served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the eastern region of Utility Services Inc. USI is a wholly owned subsidiary of MDU Resources Inc., a diversified energy company.

Prior to joining Battelle & Battelle LLP, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of the Wagner Group of Companies in Dayton, Ohio. The Wagner Group of companies is part of the eastern region of USI Inc. Jack’s career has included experience in public accounting as well as manufacturing management. He has been an instructor in accounting at Sinclair Community College and has presented “The Basics of Construction Accounting” seminar for the Construction Financial Management Association.

Jack is active in the community as Past President of The Rotary Club of Dayton, board member of Rebuilding Together Dayton, Vice Chairman of The Miami Valley Hospital Foundation and member of the Property Review Commission for the City of Centerville. He is also a member of the advisory board for the Southwestern Business College and an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law.




Brian T. Schneider, CPA

Brian has more than 10 years of “Big 4” public accounting experience with Deloitte & Touche LLP and Ernst & Young LLP. Brian has been involved in all aspects of state taxation planning including income/franchise tax, tax credits and incentives, property tax and sales and use tax.  Brian’s experience includes working with SEC clients and privately held companies with expertise in manufacturing and distribution industries.

Brian is a graduate from Ohio University where he earned his in B.S. in Accounting and Business Pre-Law.  Brian earned his Masters of Taxation from the University of Cincinnati in the fall of 2001.

Brian is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). 

Brian participates in volunteer work with Special Olympics and Big Brother/Big Sisters.  Brian also volunteers his time by teaching and coaching youth sports groups in the Dayton Area.
